About the Author
Edward Barr has taught thousands of people over a 25-year career at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh, PA where he currently teaches and coaches computational finance majors to communicate better when they take jobs on Wall Street. Before beginning his career at CMU, he served as a marketing executive in both for-profit and not-for-profit companies for over 20 years, including chief marketing officer at iCarnegie, a CMU for-profit. As a marketing professional, he conducted business in Brazil, Colombia, China, India, and the United States and has served as a freelance writer and marketing consultant for marketing firms. He has taught in China, India, Amsterdam, London, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Panama. He has taught corporate executives and staff at Cognizant, an American IT service company with over 200,000 employees in the United States and across the globe. While at CMU, he has also taught professional writing, business communication, marketing, negotiation, and strategy.
