He instructed and coordinated educational programs for the Bullock Texas State History Museum and sponsored both Junior Historians of Texas and Texas History Day programs at the school level. Stephen joined the Texas State Historical Association staff as director of education in June of 2004 and served as interim executive director in 2014 before being asked to serve as chief operating officer. His accomplishments include multiple awards for exemplary educational and military service.
