In addition to creating the horticultural society's Children's Garden Project at River Farm, she coordinated the creation of the Hershey Children's Garden and initiated the Cleveland Botanical Garden's Green Corps. She now lives in Oklahoma City, where she is the director of Myriad Botanical Garden Maureen's previous publications include Fairy Houses of the Maine Coast, four Burpee gardening books and Hershey Children's Garden: A Place to Grow.
