Descripción

In the mid-eighties, a family in Santiago, Chile, made radio contact with members of a religious congregation/scientific community operating on an island located in the Chonos Archipelago, in the southern part of the South American country.

Months later, on Saturday, August 17, 1985, thousands of people in central Chile watched for hours a UFO that was slowly moving towards the Andes mountain range, and some claimed to have seen more than one object.

While this was happening, the same family and other 11-meter radio operators listened in amazement as one of the members of the southern congregation announced through the citizen band the movements of the enigmatic sphere in the sky.

Thus was born the legend of Friendship Island, around which a group of ham radio operators and 11-meter radio enthusiasts gathered, conversing for years with radio interlocutors who identified themselves with names of biblical archangels, while experiencing strange phenomena that were inexplicable to them.

In the late nineties, the story was disseminated in mystery journalism magazines and television reports, causing a sensation nationally and internationally, and today it has inspired documentaries, novels, and fictional audiovisual productions.

In this work, journalist and ufology enthusiast Patricio Abusleme thoroughly investigates the story of Friendship Island through interviews in which he rescues revealing testimonies, in addition to examining books, press publications, articles, and documents in which he reviews the saga from its beginnings more than 40 years ago.

From this, the author of La noche de los centinelas and OVNIs en Chile establishes correlations that had never been exposed and reveals hitherto unpublished information that sheds new light on what is really hidden behind the story of Friendship Island.

With this volume, Abusleme concludes his trilogy on ufological casuistry in Chile.
