César Pérez (Vueltas, Villa Clara, 1973) is a poet, playwright, translator, and unpublished novelist. He studied journalism at the University of Havana and earned master's degrees in Hispanic literatures at the University of Iowa and Harvard University, where he specialized in medieval literature. Since 2004, he has resided in Boston, Massachusetts. He has published poems, short stories, and articles in magazines in various countries, but La capital del sol is his first book.
