Pepper Rose hasn't been back to the Bear Springs Campground since she was thirteen - the same year her father died.
Now 48, the sassy, freshly retired 9-1-1 operator is done being the sheepdog of the family. Longing for a life of her own, she decides to leave her mother and childhood home for the first time and venture to the place that captured her heart so long ago.
