The 70 sermons on animals in the Bible are distributed in six blocks: I. 29 on land animals.II. 3 on fish.III. 18 on birds.IV. 13 on insects.V. 5 on reptiles, amphibians, and rare animals.VI. 2 on apocalyptic beasts.Although the information provided on each of these animals, both biblical and extra-biblical, is copious, it is not a study book on animals of the Bible: it is a book of preached sermons. And each of them comes with its corresponding: introduction, its various points duly exposed and developed, and its conclusion. Biblical quotes in support of each statement are constant; and to this he adds transcriptions of sermons by other preachers, such as C. H. Spurgeon; quotes from important commentaries by the so-called Church Fathers, such as Victorinus of Petovio [250-304] or Caesarius of Arles [469-542]; and allegorical examples taken from Aesop's fables and other similar works.
