William Wynn Westcott was the co-founder of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. He was a very influential Freemason, theosophist, he took on Pythagoras' theories and studied the Kabbalah. This book is a famous collection of aphorisms cherry-picked from classical sources published by W.W. Westcott in his series Collectanea Hermetica. Into the Oracles: each epigram is annotated as to its source, and these include a wide range of ancient manuscripts. The annotations are helpful and desirable. Considered essential by Aleister Crowley, the Chaldean Oracles were frequently quoted in his writings.
