Kaylea is a seemingly ordinary high school girl whose main concerns are spending time with her best friend and convincing her mom not to make her go to art camp over the summer. However, after a disturbing dream foreshadows an encounter with a menacing stranger, Kaylea finds herself thrust into a strange world filled with magic and the unknown. Nancy Chamberlain has always loved fantasy stories and tales of adventure in magical worlds. In high school, she began publishing stories online on a website for fantasy and sci-fi enthusiasts. She also developed a passion for drawing maps of fantasy worlds. After graduating in 2005, she went college and then moved to Missouri to get married in 2008. In 2014, inspiration struck in the form of re-writing a story titled 'The Guardian' that she had first written ten years earlier.
