Descripción
All the Windows marks Bárbara Sánchez' promising debut, which, with an exquisite prose laden with tenderness and emotion, tells the story of a group of neighbors that decide to start a podcast to tell and share their life stories.
Six women, neighbors in the same apartment block, await. They all expect different things, but their wait is related to something sentimental. Amelia, a twenty-nine-year-old journalist, employed and in a relationship, has been living in 1B for the last couple of weeks. Her life is turned upside down when she gets fired and her boyfriend decides to go to Washington for a while, for work. In the middle of a life crisis, Amelia meets her new neighbors. Together they set in motion a radio talk show on the rooftop of their building to share their day-to-day and, at the same time, try to help Agustina, the eldest, get back the house she's lived in her whole life. A story of sorority, love, and friendship that reflects the problematic of contemporary women and the contradiction of having had to look out into the world from within four walls and now becoming active parts of what happens on the other side. Because the protagonists of this novel are like windows, unsure if they are inside or outside.
