Descripción

A beautiful novel written with heart and a refined style. At once comic, sad, and nostalgic, the story centers on a trip to northern Peru while terrorism convulses the Andes and the capital. The political debate between writer Mario Vargas Llosa and future president Alberto Fujimori serves as a backdrop to the tragicomic blunders of the narrator, who must conquer his eccentric girlfriend in what it took Israel to conquer Jerusalem during the 1967 conflict. About the author SIU KAM WEN (Xiao Jin-Rong) was born in Zhongshan, Guangdong province, China. He lived from the age of nine in Lima, Peru, where he learned to speak and write in Spanish. He has published two collections of short stories: El Tramo Final (1986) and La Primera Espada del Imperio (1988). Today he lives in Hawaii.
