Description

As I travel from place to place speaking to women's groups or storytelling in classrooms and assisted living places or theaters and inns, I have an opportunity to meet many people and see them in many different environments. It is often easy to see God in places and more often than not, I get to see a glimpse of God at work in peoples lives. I am very blessed. When I ask to see God in everyday life, I just have to be mindful of Him. Where would He be? How would He look? What would He be doing? Who would He be with? It is easy to see Him in the early morning sunrise or in the singing of the first birds. It is easy to see Him in the little child who instinctively reaches out to help another little child. It is easy to see Him in the ones you love. But where do you find Him in the hospital waiting room or the doctor's office? What about the disagreement you had with your spouse or partner or the weather disaster that happened to destroy whole towns? Where do you see Him then? Where is He in the tears of heartbreak or the side of a grave? He is there. How do you see Him when you are working and no one seems to notice the hard work you do? How do you see Him when the people around you are complaining about the boss and the regulations of a company? He is there. Can you find Him in the tears as well as the laughter? Yes, you just have to be willing to notice. You just have to be open to seeing Him. Ephesians 1:18 (NAS) says "Open the eyes of my heart Lord, I want to see you." Even in all the hard places I have been and all the hard people I have met, He has always been there. He is there for you too. You just need to learn to look and listen. This book is a series of stories that have brought God close in my life and in the lives of others. It is my hope that you are blessed by it. May it bring you joy and show you ways to see God in everyday places and unusual people.
