One thing that helped me to continue to heal and move forward was taking care of my nearly two year old son, Quincy. As much pain as I was in, I also knew my son was struggling in his own way. Kim Ellis is an artist, a mother, a homeschooler, and an art teacher. In high school, she became fascinated with children's book illustration after seeing an exhibit by Charles Santore. She is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design. She lives in Virginia, with her husband and seven children. "Butterflies for Rory" is her first children's book.
