Christmas in Connecticut Facts: Barbara Stanwyck in a Charming Holiday Classic

A request comes in for her publisher, Alexander Yardley (Sydney Greenstreet), to give a naval war hero a traditional family Christmas. He therefore decides Elizabeth should be the host and extends an invitation to himself. Elizabeth is alarmed by his demands. She is a phony, which Mr. Yardley and her audience are unaware of. Elizabeth Lane is actually a single woman who writes her articles from her New York City apartment and is completely incompetent in the kitchen. The recipes she includes in her writings are actually provided by her close friend Uncle Felix (S. Z Sakall).
