About the Author
Donna Mitchell grew up in a small town where everyone knew your name. A town where the children knew it was time to go home by the streetlights, and chasing fireflies was a nightly ritual. The small town life is what encouraged her to write about a young woman who breaks away from the norm and steps out of her comfort zone by moving away; just as she had done. Donna has lived in several states including Iowa and Arkansas. She currently resides in Midlothian, Texas with her husband and three children. Four years ago, she and her husband felt the need to foster and eventually adopt Gabriel, the youngest member of their family. Gabriel completed their family and God opened many doors to allow him to be with the Mitchell family. Donna continues to serve the adoption agency that aided in her son's adoption by volunteering every year during their annual fundraiser gala. Her husband currently sits on the Board of Directors for the agency. Donna also volunteers at her daughter's school whenever possible, which is her way of "paying it forward."
