Description
Iron Man celebrates 100 issues and a return to form in this Epic Collection! It's time for an upgrade! Iron Man increases his armor's power as his title gains a powerful new writer: Bill Mantlo. Mantlo's run delved into Tony Stark's supporting cast, added a dose of industrial intrigue and brought back iconic adversaries. It begins with accusations of Stark Industries bribing U.S. senators, gets dangerous with the return of Ultimo and reaches fever pitch when an all-new Guardsman comes calling. Next, in the lead-up to issue #100, Sunfire pits heat against iron in the prelude to the return of the Mandarin. Then, the mysterious Madame Masque and the Jack of Hearts enter the fray. And we wrap up with an out-of-this-world battle for Wundagore and a Jack of Hearts solo adventure. COLLECTING: THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN (1968) #92-114 & ANNUAL (1971) #4 and MARVEL PREMIERE (1972) #44

About the Author
Bill Mantlo began his Marvel career on Deadly Hands of Kung Fu, in which he introduced White Tiger, one of the industry's earliest Hispanic super heroes. Eventually writing stories for almost every Marvel title, he did some of his most fondly remembered work on Incredible Hulk and Spectacular Spider-Man. He also launched Cloak and Dagger in a pair of miniseries and guided Alpha Flight through some of its most harrowing ordeals. Mantlo excelled at integrating licensed properties into the Marvel Universe, as demonstrated by Micronauts and Rom: Spaceknight, both of which he wrote from start to finish. At DC, he wrote the Invasion miniseries for one of the company's biggest crossover events.
