The Reading Challenge
This workbook let's you take a first try on reading actual regular Japanese that has Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. Meant to be a challenge, this exercise encourages you to start getting into the habit of noting things down while you try to read and understand the text, as real Japanese won't only have N5 Kanji characters. This is to push you to review, turn pages, even confirm with other sources, and note things down. While you progress into learning more and more characters, you will find that it'll get easier as you start getting used to the process. There will be some who will find the challenge easy, while some won't, but what's important is for you to get used to putting in the work to learn more and more characters.
After you've mastered Hiragana, Katakana and you're already comfortable with the basics of the language, you start getting excited, wanting to be able to read real Japanese but the the truth is, it won't be a walk in the park and it'll need time. Let this book be your starting point toward that goal.
