About the Author
Russell Ovans was the founding CEO of Backstage Technologies, a social game company that pioneered the monetization of Facebook apps through the sale of virtual currency. Before that he led the development teams at two successful dot-com startups. Along the way Dr. Ovans received a Ph.D. in computer science from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, and taught software engineering at the University of Victoria and Camosun College.
