About the Author
Daphne Simpkins lives happily in Montgomery, AL where she was born near the famous garden district of the city, Cloverdale. She started writing the Mildred Budge books after completing a memoir about taking care of her father who died of Alzheimer's (The Long Good Night). In addition to writing, Daphne teaches English as an adjunct at a local university and serves on the speakers' bureau of The Alabama Humanities Foundation. Named one of the top 5 speakers in the state by MOSAIC MAGAZINE last year, Daphne enjoys meeting people and speaking on a variety of topics at clubs and centers.
