About the Author
Independent historian Diana Ross McCain has been writing about Connecticut's past for more than thirty-five years. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in history, and was on the staff of the Connecticut Historical Society for twenty-five years She is the author of the non-fiction books To All on Equal Terms: The Life and Legacy of Prudence Crandall, the award-winning biography of Connecticut's official state heroine; It Happened in Connecticut; and Connecticut Coast: A Town-by-Town Illustrated History, and of the historical novel Thy Children's Children, based on the true story of five generations of a New England grassroots dynasty. She lives in Durham, Connecticut.
