About the Author
Harvey T. Dearden BSc CEng FIET FInstMC FIMechE FIChemE has worked in the process industry sector for over 35 years and has been employed by a variety of vendors, contractors, consultants and end users. He now manages his own consulting practice, Time Domain Solutions Ltd. (www.tdsl.org.uk), providing support in matters of process control and protection, and associated risk assessment and management concerns. He is known to many through his involvement with professional engineering institutions and his numerous papers and articles. Previous works include Functional Safety In Practice (2016) and Crowns & Coronets, Mitres & Manes (2016). He is married to a Welsh (Anglesey) girl who prefers not to be carried over the border and so he continues to live in North Wales, where there is hardly any process industry (!), but mountains, sea, broad horizons...
