Description

The book follows Sami, a biracial baby, who grows up in a bicultural home mixed with Bangladeshi and American culture. The story embeds common Bangla transliterated words throughout Sami's nighttime routine. From the foods he eats (kichuri = a common Bangladeshi dish made of rice and lentils) to his bedtime routine, when nanu makes dua (a prayer) for him, and his dad feeds him duhd (milk) before he sleeps. We use simple sentences and alliterations that are pleasing to babies.
