Stephen L. Moore is a sixth-generation Texan and author of volumes 2 and 3 of Savage Frontier: Rangers, Riflemen, and Indian Wars in Texas, covering the years 1838-39 and 1840-41. He is also the author of four other titles, including Eighteen Minutes: The Battle of San Jacinto and the Texas Independence Campaign and Taming Texas: Captain William T. Sadler's Lone Star Service.
