Description
The printed book is finally here, containing the E-books: Smoke in the Distance and The Search for Home.
The year is 1852. Tragedy strikes the once lively town of Wasa, when an innocent flame sets the whole community ablaze on a hot summer's day. Nothing but ruins are left in its wake, and many are left without homes.
Three young adults - who had once lived vastly different lives - suddenly find themselves dependent on each other. Alfred's family receive refugees to their farm located in the outskirts of town, Amalia struggles to adapt to a life without the luxuries she has grown up with, and Evelyn is haunted by the memories of her escape from the flames.
A year of hardship, challenges and difficult changes lie ahead for all involved, and the rebuilding of the town is bound to be lengthy procedure. The emergence of tender feelings does not make the whole thing easier, either...
Only ruins remain of the once-prosperous town of Wasa. The grief-stricken families are now faced with the challenge of rebuilding their homes - and lives.
Amalia has returned to Stockholm in an attempt to flee the place that only reminds her of the traumatic events of the fire. Still, she finds it difficult to carry on with her day-to-day life. Her parents have decided that it is time for Amalia to marry - yet she remains skeptical of the idea. She is horrified when she hears they have invited a young man to visit their house.
The Greenberg family still resides at the farm in Runsville, following the fire that destroyed their home in town. The times are uncertain, and deep down, everyone hopes to remain there. Alfred is hard at work, but even so, he manages to find the time to fantasize about his potential bride.
