However, years later, the scourge of slavery, torture, and cannibalism flourished in Central Africa, especially the Congo. Here humans were considered property and "meat." Certain tribes were slave hunters and cannibals. They'd raid villages, enslave the women and children, and kill all others. Some of the victims were sold to slave merchants, while many of the most unfortunate were killed and eaten. Unfortunately, slavery is still practiced in parts of the world.
