Londoner Gunner Moir learned his trade in boxing under legendary trainers Dai Dollings and Sid Grumley. Whilst serving in the Royal Artillery in India, Moir began accumulating various Army boxing titles, becoming Heavyweight Champion of the British Indian Army. Moir's career hit its pinnacle as he become British Heavyweight Champion in 1906, dethroning Jack Palmer.
Moir's 1909 book "The Complete Boxer" explores the principal blows, blocks, evasions and rules. He also examines physical training, conditioning, nutrition and even a section on boxing for self-protection on the street.
Moir's simple guide is full of clear detailed illustrations and photography of set piece attacks, and he clearly explains how these were used during his fights against greats of his day such as Tommy Burns and "Bombardier" Billy Wells.
Gunner Moir provides detailed instructions on the techniques he deployed to become British Heavyweight Champion. Taught in a series of easy to learn techniques, combinations, and boxing strategies.
