When my husband was confronted with a chronic, life-threatening illness, I was quite disillusioned by the response of our church community. During the pandemic, when feeling isolated and alone in my suffering, I was directed to strengthen my spiritual life through prayer and meditation on the Word. I maintain a strong faith and am a member of a community that grows daily, however, I do not associate myself with any church or religious body.
