The Great Lie: A Catholic Christian Novel

Shortly after the burial of Jesus Christ, the Sanhedrin of Jerusalem posted five guards at the mouth his tomb, fearing that his followers might steal the body, and claim he had risen from the dead, as Christ himself had foretold. All five guards saw what happened that night; how the massive stone that covered the tomb had been ejected outward with great force, and how an angel had appeared on it, and said that Christ would soon meet with his disciples in Galilee. Melech and Jeth were two of the soldiers on guard that night. They had been blinded by the angel's light and paralyzed with fear. They had seen what happened, and unlike their comrades, a bag of gold would not be enough to silence them. Taking the bribe money they fled to Egypt, uprooting their families and becoming fugitives on the run. Outraged, the Sanhedrin charged one of the soldiers to hunt them down and bring them back for sentencing. Little did they know that in doing so they would be setting into motion a series of unforgettable adventures that would forever bring glory to Christ's glorious resurrection, and expose to the world The Great Lie they had so wickedly sought to spread.
