About the Author
Louis R. Ormont, Ph.D., lived in New York City, where for over fifty years he had one of the largest group therapy practices in the world. He was the Director of the Center for The Advancement of Group Studies; he lectured widely in the United States and Europe and wrote over 38 articles for professional journals. Lou, as he was known to countless followers, had a unique teaching method which was a mix of experiential and didactic. His public talks were sold out events. Colleague, Elliot M. Zeisel Ph.D., wrote, "To know Lou was to know a quick-witted, dynamic and passionate man who was tireless in his effort to understand people, connecting them to their emotional lives and to one another while navigating through obstacles that divided them. He trained a generation of practitioners around the world, affecting thousands of people daily." Lou taught people to live freely and in the moment.
