This book portrays a slice of Philippine contemporary political history under the leadership of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. It is a critical view of her leadership style and role. Pres. The author dedicates this book to the more than 11 million overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are remitting nearly US$15 billion annually to their families they left behind. This yearly remittance sustains the Philippine economy, which is wracked by widespread corruption. These OFWs, who are working in many parts of the world are considered "modern heroes" of the Philippines.
