About the Author
Walther Zimmerli was born in 1907 in Schiers (Switzerland). He held a number of academic appointments in Germany and Switzerland. From 1951 he was Professor of Old Testament in Gottingen. He served as a Visiting Professor at Yale University Divinity School, and in 1964 was appointed Rector of the University of Gottingen. His publications include Das Gesetz und die Propheten, 1963 and Israel und die Christen, 1964.
