About the Author
Phyllis Pittman's career as a writer began with an attempt to publish a short story in the New Orleans Times Picayune newspaper at the age of nine. That ill-fated effort was followed some twenty years later by a career as a newspaper journalist, feature writer and columnist. Her first published work of fiction was a children's book, Pony Tales: Night Mischief, published by SBA Books in 2014. She was co-author of two books with the Fairhope Writers Group: Fairhope Anthology: Second in a Series, and Original Fairhope Guidebook: A Walking Tour in 2017. The Trouble with Grits, her debut novel, was a finalist in the 2017 William Faulkner/William Wisdom Writing Competition. Born in Hattiesburg, Miss., Phyllis Pittman lives in Fairhope, Alabama, pursuing fiction writing full-time.
