About the Author
Anne Winn Stevens was a writer for the WPA during the depression. Not much is recorded about her, yet her name is attached to interviews and documents of a large volume of Life History documents and records in the Libary of Congress. The stories and images were compiled by R. S. Lunsford Retired Sergeant with the City of Asheville Police Dept. Working as a Patrol supervisor where several of the narratives are set. Lunsford has written articles for the Brotherhood of Martial Artist Magazine, Martial Artist Instructor Quarterly, and The Urban News. His books include Juvenile Subcultures and Issues, Cop and Coin A Novel and There's Plenty of Good Air and Sunshine. The latter a narrative on his Grandmother and other families growing up in the Asheville NC Community during the Great Depression.
