ThreeS into infinity is a collection of poems that focuses on the author's decision-making process to take the plunge-which is do the cochlear implant surgery. The outcome involves more colorful vibrant frequencies and the ability to embrace the hissing sound of S - Sss through listening and speaking. Born profoundly bisensorineural deaf, the author illustratively shares reasons why she originally did not want to undergo surgery to increase hearing possibilities. She did not believe that there was a need to change until late into her thirties. She is thankful to have been the one to make the decision, not anyone else. The purpose for this third autobiographical collection of poems is to provide insight into how making a life-altering decision involves numerous factors, especially physical and neurological.
