About the Author
Joni lives in Port Townsend, WA and has worked on boats for the past 27 years in the area. She has varnished and painted many classic old yachts, fishing boats, sailboats and outdoor teak furniture. She's done many small projects alone and many big projects with a crew. With her loyal clientelle of boats that she annualy has cared for through many years, she's learned to realize what works and what does not and has cultivated efficiency. She works mainly on wood, but, has perfected painting fiberglass also with 2-part polyurethane paints. She has done workshops through the years at the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival. The Northwest Wooden Boat School encouraged her to make this book for their students to learn from. Her company is Leatherwood Finishing Co. Joni also loves to do ropework and has made many mats and ladder steps for boats, homes and outdoor furniture.
