Former Ranger Jack Smith watched an Army bio-warfare experiment go horribly wrong in an Afghan village in 2001, escaping only after he turned to a makeshift mace and bayonet to destroy the skulls of the infected creatures that bullets to the chest could not stop. With the traumatic experience seared into his mind, he earned his Ph.D. in ancient history and began developing medieval weapons-making skills after he left the service. About the Author
J.W. Vohs is a former soldier, student, and teacher of History and English. He believes that unless the people of this world make some big changes in the ways they live, nature will eventually hit the reset button on the human race. The big question is whether modern society will experience a slow apocalypse or a rapid collapse, but the end of this phase of culture is doomed. The follow-up question concerns how the survivors of the coming collapse will survive in the new world that will emerge, and many of his writing efforts focus on presenting possible futures for humanity. J.W. also writes historical fiction, and his novel, Tours, a story built around the 732AD battle of the same name is currently being prepared for wider distribution after being published on Amazon Kindle last year. Currently working on the sequel to Zombie Crusade and a follow-up to Tours, J.W. lives in Indiana with his wife and children, where he hunts, fishes, reads, and prays for the safe return of his sons in the military.
