A Clinical Guide to Skin Cancer

The type of cancer that involves an abnormal growth of skin cells is called skin cancer. There are three prominent forms of this type of cancer named as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. The signs of melanoma include a large brownish spot with darker speckles, a painful lesion that itches or burns, or as a mole that changes in color and size. A weakened immune system, exposure to radiation, a personal history of skin cancer, fair skin, and excessive sun exposure are some factors that increase the risk of skin cancer.
