Description
136 pages, 73 black & white illustrations, size 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Originally published under the title The Book of the Panther (Lightweight) by W.C. Haycraft. This book is one of The Motorcyclist's Library series published in the USA by Floyd Clymer by arrangement with the original publishers, Pitman Ltd. of London, England.
This re-print of the 1959 sixth edition includes repair, maintenance and overhaul information for the entire range of Panther O.H.V. 250 c.c. & 350 c.c. 'lightweight' motorcycles produced from 1932 through 1958. In addition, much of the information is applicable to the later versions of those same models that were manufactured until production ended in 1968.
Motorcycles that are specifically covered are the 1932-1939 Red Panther models 20, 30 & 40, the 1938-1948 models 60, 70 & 85, the 1949-1958 models 65 & 75 and the 1950-1953 model 65 De Luxe.
With more than two-thirds of the contents devoted to the maintenance and overhaul of both mechanical and electrical components there is adequate detailed text and diagrams to assist in major refurbishing such as an engine rebuild or even a complete renovation.
Out-of-print and unavailable for many years, this book is becoming increasingly more difficult to find on the secondary market and we are pleased to be able to offer this reproduction as a service to all Panther owners, restorers and enthusiasts worldwide.
