Description
Forty paintings and related poems by artist Frank O'Cain. Frank O'Cain is a noted instructor at the Art Students League of New York. His abstract paintings are inspired by his studies of nature, history, and music. His work and teaching carries on an approach to painting and seeing the world that comes down from Cezanne, through the work of Hans Hofmann and Hofmann's student Vaclav Vytlacil, who O'Cain studied with for many years. Now, Frank O'Cain's instruction has influenced the work of new generations of students. This book hopes to share many of Frank O'Cain's favorite paintings with those who have worked with him over the years.
