Maria Pérez-Fernández studied Medicine at the University of Valladolid where she obtained a degree in Childcare and Occupational Medicine. She was a professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain) and has worked as a specialist in Internal Medicine and a family doctor. In 2010 she retired to dedicate herself to teaching and research. She is responsible for ethics at the Spanish Primary Care Network and at NoGracias. Juan Gérvas is a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Valladolid and worked as a family doctor until his retirement. He is the author of the trilogy Sano y salvo, La expropiación de la salud, and El encarnizamiento médico con las mujeres, together with Mercedes Pérez-Fernández.
