About the Author
William D. "Billy" Walker, Jr., began his airline career with the original Frontier Airlines. He joined America West Airlines, where he became the manager of Airbus Flight Training, an FAA APD, and Check Airman. Later, he became part of the start-up team for JetBlue Airways, retiring as the Senior Test Pilot, FAA APD, and Senior Check Airman. Walker is rated in numerous transport types and has flown more than 250 varieties of military and civilian aircraft. He holds FAA ATP and Flight Instructor certificates. Walker was awarded the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award and was inducted into the Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame.
