Description
This book is about the life of Rose (Skolnick) Krimsky known in her later years as Grandma Rose.
Orphaned in Ukraine, she was sponsored by her father to immigrate to America. He left Ukraine the day she was born. She arrived at Ellis Island in 1928 13 years old with almost no education in Russian Yiddish or Hebrew studies. The Bolsheviks saw to that. She and her husband Alex who arrived in 1924 with also little education could only watch while their children achieved the American Dream. The two boys graduated high school, college, married, bought homes, acquired professional employment, and had children that graduated college. Rose and Alex took pride in the accomplishments of their children and grandchildren. She doted on her children, grandchildren and her great grand-children as they grew up. Her name will be perpetuated into the next century and beyond.
