About the Author
Vijay Sathe was previously on the faculty at the Harvard Business School and has taught occasionally at IMD (International Institute for Management Development) in Lausanne, Switzerland. He received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Pune, India; an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin; and an M.B.A and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Ohio State University. Vijay is an expert in the areas of leadership and cultural change, building winning executive teams, and revitalization of the organization and self. He has published numerous articles and several books including: Culture and Related Corporate Realities (Irwin) and with Phyllis Schlesinger, Leonard Schlesinger, and John Kotter, Organization (Irwin). Professor Sathe has advised and coached top executives and others in a variety of enterprises, including entrepreneurial startups; domestic and multinational corporations; professional service, nonprofit, and volunteer organizations; and government agencies. He has taught in a number of M.B.A., executive education, and corporate programs around the world and has received the "Professor of the Year" award from the Drucker M.B.A. graduating class seven times in the last 10 years in recognition of his outstanding teaching.
