Description

It had long been apparent that the views of mountain people were different from their off-the-mountain governments. Their differences were not often recorded accurately if recorded at all.

The time seemed right and proper to make some corrections. A book written by someone who had lived the life was a somewhat remote possibility. That possibility became more real when Leonard was finally married in his sixties.

Wife Martha "Marny" became a real help in achieving that end. They now live out of the mountains in Archer Lodge, NC. They moved there when NCDOT took their Deep Gap, NC home for highway improvements. This book is primarily for family and friends but delves into unique ways of living and thinking that should not be lost.
