Although her tumor was small and found during the early stages, Martha Lanier took an aggressive approach in her fight against breast cancer by choosing to have a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction using an abdominal free TRAM. She proved that decreasing stress, increasing humor and maintaining a positive attitude helped her recover, get into top physical condition and compete in her first triathlon just one year following her surgery.
