About the Author
Joni Shreve, PhD, is a senior instructor in the Stephenson Department of Entrepreneurship and Information Systems at Louisiana State University (LSU), where she has taught for more than 20 years. Dr. Shreve has been at the forefront of analytics education since 2011, when the LSU Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) program was established with support from SAS. She has been instrumental in its success, serving as director of the analytics program from 2014 to 2017. Dr. Shreve has won several teaching awards, including the 2014 Outstanding Faculty Member of the MSA program and the 2018 SAS Distinguished Professor Award from SAS Institute. Her research interests include data mining and classification analysis. In 2013, she established the Student Symposium hosted during the annual South Central SAS Users Group (SCSUG) Educational Forum, which provides students from Louisiana State University, Oklahoma State University, and the University of Alabama an opportunity to showcase their analytical skills and gain valuable feedback from industry experts. She has also served on the SCSUG Executive Committee and is a member of the 2018 and 2019 SAS Global Forum Content Delivery Team. Dr. Shreve has a PhD in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in quantitative methods and an MS in Statistics, both from the University of Georgia at Athens, and a BS in Mathematics from Louisiana State University.
