About the Author
Jimmy Doherty is an entomologist, a farmer, a conservationist and a TV presenter. He is also an author: his first book, On the Farm (Ebury), was published in 2004, followed by a cookbook called A Taste of the Country (Michael Joseph) in 2006 and a tie-in book to a BBC series called A Farmer's Life for Me in 2011. Jimmy has been seen on our TV screens ever since, across a number of programmes. He is a regular presenter on Food Unwrapped as well as Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast and, in 2020, he shared his life-long passion for insects in Jimmy's Big Bee Rescue on Channel 4, aiming to inspire protection of the nation's bee population. In 2016, he became the youngest ever President to date of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, a post he held until 2021.
