About the Author
Marcia J. Kenyon is the author of two collections of inspirational poetry: Shades of Light and Dark and The Butterfly Collection. She has also written a handbook for those interested in learning the tarot entitled Tarot Keywords and Meanings - all available on Amazon. It is her mission to inspire, motivate and uplift others through her words - she is described as a poet of Light and Dark work, hence the title of her latest book - very real in its content - to reflect daily life and the struggles and wonders we all face. She has written for many years and her work has been published by many greeting card publishers in the UK as well as her local newspaper, magazines and in anthologies. Her guidelines for aspiring writers can be found on the Greeting Card Association UK website, the GCAUK referred to Shades of Light and Dark as, 'really lovely inspirational stuff'. She has two sons both of whom she has actively encouraged to always chase their dreams, and they now have jobs that reflect who they are. Between them all they work in music, theatre, television, film, publishing and media. Marcia draws on her real-life experiences to be able to write from the heart, although her poetry is open to one's own interpretation. After over twenty years of working in offices she decided it was time to take her life into her own hands. She completed her piano grades that she began as a child, left her office job and began to teach piano to beginners. She got into TV as a background extra and chaperone and has appeared on many popular UK productions - she continues to do this line of work to this day and is currently represented by Lemon Castings in Manchester, England. She makes her living being 'herself'. She is inspired by Patience Strong and Helen Steiner Rice and her ambition is to be a household name and sell her inspirational books through card, gift and bookshops worldwide.
