About the Author
Doc Michael E. Janssen is a board certified spine surgeon, practicing at the Center for Spine and Orthopedics in Thornton, Colorado and Saratoga, Wyoming. Dr. Janssen was among the first surgeons in the nation to perform total disc replacement and has trained more than 150 surgeons worldwide to perform the procedure. Along with his family, he has owned the Saratoga Hot Springs Resort since 2008. He has authored more than 50 scientific publications and book chapters in his medical career. He is an invited speaker at surgical/medical conferences around the world.Malissa Rodenburg is a Seattle-based writer and editor with a passion for science, sports, and travel writing.
