George Walker (1749-1832), a son of Joseph and Catherine Walker of Hereford, MD (see Volume I), lived in the Millers area of Baltimore (now Carroll) County, MD. George Walker and his wife, Elizabeth Shaul, had ten children and they left numerous descendants in MD and PA as well as in the mid west and western United States. Some of the allied families were: Fissel (Fishel), Miller, Lamott, Hart, Gillham, Acton, Williams, McCullough, Hofheiser, Fritz, Shue, Shaffer, Owings, Wirtz, Fisher, Zeigler, Young, Clark, Edmondson, Steffy, Hoffacker, Fuhrman, Dubbs (& Dubs), Yost, Bortner, Hutchinson, Kulp, Shook, Hoffman, Warner, Sweitzer, McEntarfer, Barnett, Sellers, Krebs, Garvick, Bixler, Alban, Grogg, Taylor, Sherman, Powell, Likes, McMahan, Ramsour, Masemore and Rother. The data includes (for most individuals) dates and places of birth, death, marriage and location of burial with cemetery citations. The early generations in this volume are thoroughly documented with numerous source citations, maps and graphics. ABOUT THE AUTHORS: Carlton Seitz (#3072) lives in Towson, Maryland. He is descended from George and Elizabeth (Shaul) Walker through their daughter Eva Walker Fissel. He is a graduate of St. John's College, Annapolis, MD, holds a PhD in Oceanography (1972) from the Johns Hopkins University and an MBA degree in finance from Hofstra University (1978). Carlton manages commercial real estate in Towson. He published his work on early land patents in Northern Baltimore and Carroll Counties, Maryland in 1994. He has an interest in the history of paper making and milling in Baltimore County. His e-mail address is csbooks@verizon.net. Larry Walker (#3091) was born in West York, PA. He is descended from George and Elizabeth (Shaul) Walker through their son Nicholas. Larry is a graduate of Lehigh University, holds a masters degree from Pitt and a law degree from Duquesne University. Larry was a CPA and an international tax attorney. Since retirement Larry finds time for gardening, travel and golf. He has been working on his family history and ancestry since the early 1980s.
